Iowa basketball coach Steve Alford hopes his Hawkeyes regain their “edge” this week in preparation for Saturday’s matchup at home against Minnesota. After bursting out to a 12-1 start the Hawks have stumbled out of the gate in conference play with losses to Michigan and Ohio State. Alford says the team got comfortable and lost their edge a little bit. The Hawkeyes have been idle since last Saturday’s loss at Ohio State and Alford says the added practice time has been welcomed. He says the bye week doesn’t always come at the right time, but he says in this case it did. Alford says they’ve viewed a lot of tape to see things they need to work on.Alford says the 0-2 start is also the product of an improved Big Ten. He says they haven’t played to the level they have been playing and they’ve run into teams that are playing well. Iowa is 12-3 overall.
