Webster City kids raise tsunami relief funds at lunch

January 13, 2005 By admin

School kids in north central Iowa may be skipping their regular lunch fare today.A fundraiser to benefit victims of the Asian tsunami is underway today at Webster City Middle School. Some 460 students and staff will be offered a bowl of rice and a glass of water instead of chicken fried steak. The student council will donate a dollar for every bowl served. Students are also watching videos of the tsunami and they collected 12-pounds of coins this week — money that will be going to aid victims.
