Kicked out of ASU, Hill transfers to UNI

January 26, 2005 By admin

Hakim Hill will play football at UNI but he is already part of the Panther indoor track team. The Iowa City native transfered to UNI at the semester break after two tumultous years with the Arizona State football team. Despite leading the Sun Devils in rushing this season, he was kicked off the squad in December for breaking team rules just a week before Arizona State’s appearance in the Sun Bowl. UNI track coach Chris Bucknam says Hill is practicing but is not ready yet for track competition. Bucknam says that’s the only comment he has on Hill. Northern Iowa is the defending Missouri Valley Conference champions in Indoor track. The Panthers will host the UNI Invitational Saturday at the UNI-Dome.
