Iowa women look for victory, boost of confidence

January 27, 2005 By admin

The Iowa Hawkeye women need a boost in confidence and they could get a good start tonight at home against Michigan. The Hawkeyes have dropped four of their last five games after Sunday’s loss at Purdue and are 3-4 in the Big Ten. Iowa coach Lisa Bluder says losing is losing and no one likes it. She says they need a good win to feel better about themselves. Bluder has coached against Michigan’s Cheryl Burnett most. She expects Burnett’s team to play hard, and says they’re just young right now. Bluder’s known Burnett since their days in the Missouri Valley Conference when Bluder was at Drake and Burnett was at Southwest Missouri State. The Wolverines are 1-6 in the Big Ten.
