In the class 4A semifinals, second rated Cedar Rapids Washington jumped out to a 12-0 lead then held off several comeback attempts by Dowling Catholic for a 54-41 win. Dowling closed to within seven on three occasions in the second half but each time the Warriors answered. Two champions will be crowned tonight. The last time IKM and Charter Oak-Ute played IKM picked up a 70-67 win. The first game produced a 14-point IKM victory. The meet for the third time tonight in the 1A championship game. In the 2A championship top-ranked Grundy Center plays number-two Tri- Center. Both teams advanced after narrow semifinal round wins.
