Bondurant-Farrar gets win behind hot shooting Dunham

March 15, 2005 By admin

The class 2A quarterfinals continued this afternoon at the boys’ state basketball tournament. Kerwin Dunham had 22 of his game high 28 points in the opening half as Bondurant-Farrar downed Mid-Prairie of Wellman 61-41. Bondurant-Farrar scored 22 points in the opening quarter including three early layups. Dunham says all year long they’ve pushed the tempo to get the other team to run and to wear them down. Mid-Prairie coach Don Showalter says Bondurant was tough to defend. He says his team didn’t think Bondurant would run the break as well as they did as that’s normally what his team does.Mid-Prairie ends the season 18-8. He says they started the season at 0-2 in the conference and had no idea they’d play in the state tournament, so it was a good experience.
