O-J expert testifies in Jesup man’s trial

April 5, 2005 By admin

Jurors in a Jesup man’s murder trial heard Monday from a D-N-A expert who gained notoriety in the O.J. Simpson trial. Lynn LaMasters is accused of killing his live-in girlfriend Patricia Rapacki. Rapacki’s body was found in a freezer in the basement of her Jesup home in January of 2004. An autopsy revealed she’d been strangled to death and investigators from the state crime lab say they found D-N-A on the cord around Rapacki’s neck which matched LaMaster’s genetic profile. The D-N-A expert who had been an expert witness in the O.J. Simpson trial testified via videotape that genetic analysis can be contaminated by human or machine error. The trial is being held in Grundy County on a change of venue.
