April 7, 2005 By admin

The 28th Annual Charles City Jaycees North-South All-Star high school wrestling meet is Friday night. Meet organizer Darin Mitchell says it may be one of the best fields ever for the North-South meet. Mitchell says the senior class across the state is “phenomenal” and he’s excited about the meet.Mitchell says there will be a number of state champions on hand, and quite a few who have been state champions in the past. Mitchell says the event plays to a packed gym and over the years has featured some of the biggest names in wrestling– such as Jim Zalesky and the Brands brothers. He says wrestling is very strong in northeast Iowa. The meet starts at 7 o’clock in the Charles City High School gym. Tickets will be on sale at the door for $6.
