Iowa baseball team opens series with Michigan

April 8, 2005 By admin

The Iowa baseball team opens a four game series at Michigan this afternoon with a single game. The Hawkeyes opened the league race by splitting a four-game series with Michigan State. In recent years the Hawkeyes have dug themselves a big hole early in the conference race. They hope to avoid that this year. The top six teams make the Big Ten tournament and Iowa coach Jack Dahm says that is a realistic goal for his team. He says it will be an interesting year with Ohio State, Michigan and Minnesota the top teams heading in all suffering some early losses. Dahm says some early success would boost their confidence. Iowa is 6-14 overall after a Wednesday night loss at fourth-ranked Nebraska.
