Light changing gadgets soon to be outlawed

April 13, 2005 By admin

If you have one of those electronic gadgets that turns a stoplight you’re driving toward to green, you’ll be out of luck soon. The Iowa Senate has given final legislative approval to a bill that makes those devices illegal to buy or own in Iowa, and the governor’s expected to approve the bill. Senator Steve Kettering, a Republican from Lake View, says the devices are being sold on the Internet.”It’s become universally available to a lot of folks,” Kettering says. “Before, it was just emergency vehicles that had this type of thing so a fire truck could change a signal on its way to a fire or an accident.” Kettering says the devices should not be available to the general public.
