Dordt looks to get back in championship contention

The Northwestern College softball team looks to climb back into championship contention in the Great Plains Conference on Tuesday with a doubleheader at home against Dordt College. After starting conference play 9-1 coach Melanie Mason’s team has lost three of four and is currently third, two games in the loss column behind conference leader Dana. She says they didn’t expect to win them all as the conference is very tough and they have to learn to deal with that.Mason says her team cannot afford to wory about how the teams ahead of them are doing. Northwestern is 30-10 overall but Mason says there is areas they need to shore up down the stretch.Dordt College is 9-7 in the GPAC and 14-14 overall.
