Waterloo man died in motorcycle wreck

A Waterloo man died in a weekend motorcycle accident. The accident happened Sunday just before 4-30. A motorcycle driven by 45-year-old Daniel Pierce collided with a mini-van driven by 54-year-old William Mehlhorn, also of Waterloo. Pierce was taken to a Waterloo hospital where he died, Mehlhorn was treated for facial injuries. Police say the accident was caused by Pierce driving faster than the speed limit, and improper passing.
