UNI and Iowa meet on the baseball diamond

April 26, 2005 By admin

Iowa and UNI collide tonight in Cedar Rapids in the second annual Corridor Classic at Veteran’s Memorial Stadium. The Hawkeyes have been rolling as of late. They are off to their best Big Ten start since 1990 and won a 9-7 slugfest over the Panthers in Iowa City earlier this season. UNI is 16-22 overall and coach Rick Heller expects his team to play well in this game that spotlights the only Division-One baseball programs in the state. He says it’s always a big game and the one game, right or wrong, where people are going to judge the programs. Iowa is 18-17 overall and the Hawkeyes are in search of the program’s first winning season since 1996.
