Patrol finds over 100 pounds of pot in traffic stop

April 29, 2005 By admin

The state patrol says they discovered a large quantity of drugs in a routine traffic stop in eastern Iowa. Shortly after noon Wednesday, a trooper pulled over a pickup on I-80 at the Victor interchange for a seatbelt violation. The trooper became suspicious during the stop and the resulting search found 109 pounds of marijuana located in three hidden compartments in the vehicle. Troopers arrested 25-year-old Jesus Priscila Meza-Trillion of Commerce City Colorado, and her husband, 25-year-old Ubaldo Barraza-Luna on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, and a drug tax stamp violation.
