Off-duty Buchanan County deputy dies in boating accident

May 23, 2005 By admin

A Buchanan County Sheriff’s deputy died this weekend in an off-duty boating accident in west-central Minnesota. 38-year-old Brian Jackson of Fairbank was boating with another person on Clitherall Lake in Fergus Falls, Minnesota Saturday when the boat capsized. Both were wearing life jackets. The other person swam to shore and Jackson was found on shore, but efforts to revive him failed. Authorities are blaming the accident on high winds and large waves.
