Vail man sentenced on child molestation charges

A man from the western Iowa town of Vail will go to prison on child molestation charges. 45-year-old Dean Ricke was sentenced this week to eight years in prison after his conviction in Crawford County District Court on two counts of having indecent contact with a child. Ricke is accused of inappropriately touching his 12-year-old niece at his rural home in 2004 and earlier this year. Ricke will not be eligible for parole until he’s served 85-percent of his term. He was also ordered to pay a 500-fine, fees and court costs.
