A summer basketball league in Iowa City starts its 19th season next week when the Primetime league begins play at the recreation center in North Liberty. Designed to provide quality summer competition for college players, the league has been popular with Iowa Hawkeye fans who want to follow past, current and future Hawkeyes. Commissioner Randy Larson says tryouts are Saturday morning. He says they draft Sunday and then get started. He says the NCAA doesn’t let them start until June 5th. The men play on Mondays and Wednesdays, and the women on Tuesdays and Thursdays.The Gametime league is a league for women and during the past three years has include players from Iowa, Iowa State,UNI and Drake. Larson says one change this year has two games going on at one time.
