Two more cases of drowning under investigation

July 1, 2005 By admin

Two more apparent cases of drowning are under investigation in different parts of the state. Authorities in the Okoboji area began searching Big Spirit Lake after a fisherman pulled in two boys who’d been clinging to a life jacket since their small boat capsized in high winds Thursday afternoon. A third teen went swimming back to their overturned boat but later disappeared and couldn’t be found. Near Glenwood, authorities last night still hadn’t identified a body pulled from Folsom Lake near where searchers found a parked truck. They weren’t saying if the man found floating face down had been swimming at the lake in Mills County. It’s not far from where a 19-year-old man drowned in April following a late-night drinking party.
