Iowa Games executive director Jim Hallihan says he is not sure they will break the record but he is expecting a large field to take part in the summer festival which begins next week in Ames. The current record for participants is 18-thousand 719 set in 2003. Hallihan expects to be in that range. One thing is for sure, the number of people taking part in an Iowa Games event has skyrocketed the past few years thanks in part to some new programs. The Iowa Games are July 14th through the 17th and the 22nd through the 24th.
