Woman dies while apparently hunting night crawlers

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office is investigating what may be the accidental death of a Little Sioux woman. Early today the Little Sioux first responders and Mondamin rescue were called to a resident in Little Sioux in response to a report of a woman lying on the ground. The paramedics found the woman who appeared to be dead. The preliminary investigation revealed the woman had apparently been shocking the ground where the soil had been saturated in an attempt to gather nigh crawlers. An autopsy has been scheduled for Saturday in the Douglas County Coroner’s Office in Omaha. The woman’s name has not been released pending the notification of her family.
