Waterloo woman dies after being hit by a truck

Waterloo police have released the name of the pedestrian who was hit by a truck and killed on Tuesday night. 55-year old Renee Marie Tripp died from her injuries at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo. According to police, Tripp was walking on the roadway of Byron Avenue — an area that doesn’t have sidewalks — when she was hit by the pickup driven by 32-year old Patrick Wagner of Waterloo. He was not injured. No charges were filed and the accident remains under investigation.
