Man dies in silo accident in Dubuque County

A 37-year-old man has died in a farm accident in northeast Iowa. Dubuque County authorities were called to a farm in Holy Cross around nine o’clock Monday night for an accident involving a silo. Thirty-seven-year-old Patrick Hannan was found trapped in the silo, he was freed and transferred to Mercy Hospital in Dubuque where he was pronounced dead. Hannan’s body has been transported to Des Moines for an autopsy and the case remains under investigation by the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office and the State’s Medical Examiner’s Office.
