ISU hopes to have Hicks for Nebraska game

September 26, 2005 By admin

Iowa State coach Dan McCarney hopes running back Stevie Hicks will be ready for Saturday’s game at Nebraska. Hicks has been bothered by an undisclosed injury and carried the ball just nine times in a victory over Army. McCarney says it’s day-to-day right now after Hicks play only 20 plays against Army. McCarney says Greg Coleman did a good job filling in. The Cyclones have beaten Nebraska the last two times they have met in Ames but the games in Lincoln have been a different story. ISU has not won there since 1977. McCarney says beyond losing it’s been almost embarrassing in the way they’ve played. McCarney says the games haven’t been competitive in Lincoln and Iowa State has to turn that around. Both teams are 3-0.
