September 28, 2005 By admin

Davenport police say the pastor of a western Illinois church faces criminal charges back in eastern Iowa. Police say 55-year-old Jesse James Stewart, the pastor of the Temple of Truth and Wisdom, in New Windsor, Illinois, is accused of having marijuana and a substance police think is crack cocaine in his Davenport apartment. He was issued citations for drug possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. Stewart is also charged with assault after allegedly grabbing and injuring an unidentified woman during an argument.
