Cyclone coach says two losses don’t end season

October 11, 2005 By admin

Iowa State coach Dan McCarney says despite an 0-2 start in the Big-12 race the Cyclones have not lost confidence. ISU visits Missouri this weekend after back-to-back losses to Nebraska and Baylor. McCarney says they’re not a bad football team by any means. He says they still have a lot of things to play for and they have to go out and play they way they’re capable of playing.

The wins to open the season elevated the level of expectations but McCarney says two losses will not spoil the season. He says he gets the sense that the double overtime loss and a close loss has put them at 1-7, but McCarney says they’re not. He says they’re in the pack of teams at 3-2 that’re still in the conference race.

McCarney says the Cyclones need to get back to playing the style it takes for them to win. He says they have to be better in the kicking game and take care of the football while playing with passion and emotion.
Missouri is 3-2 after a win at Oklahoma State.
