Some 16-hundred dollars in homecoming t-shirts sold by the Fairfield student council were never distributed this past weekend due their content. The shirts included a reference to the school’s Trojan mascot. The shirt has the saying “Trojans gone wild” on the front and “Protect yourself” on the back. Some parents objected to the shirt because of the innuendo that may’ve linked the shirts to Trojan condoms. Superintendent Steve Triplett says the decision to not release the shirts was made after talking with students, advisors and several other individuals. Triplett says the students who paid for a shirt will be reimbursed and the money will come out of the general fund for the student council, so they will not lose money on the fundraiser.
