Michigan may not be having the kind of season it is used too but Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says a talented group of Wolverines will invade Kinnick Stadium this weekend. Michigan has already lost to Notre Dame, Wisconsin and Minnesota but they bounced back by handing Penn State its first defeat last weekend. Ferentz says it was a great football game with two outstanding teams. He says if there are any questions about Michigan’s capability, they answered them Saturday.

The Hawkeyes have won three straight and stand 5-2 overall. A victory will give the Hawks at least a share of the Big Ten lead heading into an off-week. Ferentz says it’s going to take a total effort by everyone to win.

Running back Albert Young has tallied more than 700 yards to this point and Ferentz says he is not surprised at his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield. Young has 12 receptions. Ferentz says Young’s strength in high school was in the passing game and he says he’s been pleasantly surprised by Young’s running ability.

University officials have dubbed the Michigan game “Blackout Saturday” and fans are encouraged to wear black to Kinnick Stadium. Ferentz says he thinks it’s a great idea, although he says it will be tough to make Kinnick a better place to play.
