Iowa and Michigan ready to go again

October 20, 2005 By admin

The Iowa Hawkeyes host a Michigan team that is looking to build momentum after beating previously unbeaten Penn State last week. It has been a disappointing start for the Wolverines who are 2-2 in conference play. In what is shaping up to be a wacky year in the Big Ten they are still not out of the race though coach Lloyd Carr says they need some help. He says certain teams have their destiny in their own hands, and the teams with two losses do not. Carr says slowing down the Hawkeyes begins with shutting down the running game. He says last year Iowa had significant injuries that hampered their running game, but this year they have a number of people to run the ball. Iowa is 3-1 and shares the Big Ten lead with Northwestern and Wisconsin.
