I-S-U defender wins weekly honor

An Iowa State player has picked up a weekly honor from the Big-12 after Iowa State’s 37-10 win over Oklahoma State. Defensive back LaMarcus Hicks has been named the league’s defensive player of the week. I-S-U coach Dan McCarney says Hicks had a tremendous game with two interceptions and seven tackles. The Cyclones visit Texas [email protected] this weekend and McCarney says injured running back Stevie Hicks is expected to return to the lineup. McCarney says based on what he saw at practice, Hicks looked real good. He says they could’ve used Hicks Saturday, but decided to give him more rest.McCarney says a final decision will be made later this week. He says it’s all about how he prepares and practices.
