Iowa is the fifth best state in the nation to work in, according to a new study out of the University of Massachusetts. Author Robert Pollin says the rankings are based on things like unemployment rates, wages and workplace fairness.Pollin says “We felt there were lots of studies available that ranked states according to their business climate or opportunities for business, but there weren’t any studies that looked at states in a comparative way in terms of conditions for the majority of people, working people.” Iowa ranked number-six in job quality, 11th in job opportunities and 30th in workplace fairness. Overall, Delaware was ranked as the best state for people who work or who are looking for a job. Louisiana came in last.
