Bus brake lines cut, school cancelled in Dubuque

November 16, 2005 By admin

Classes were canceled today for the Dubuque Community Schools but it wasn’t weather related. Brake lines were cut on several buses. According to superintendent John Burgart, five buses on the road had children on them and two buses discovered the problem. Once the cut brakes were discovered, the children were immediately transferred to other buses and taken home. All the children who were riding the buses are safe. Dubuque police are continuing to investigate the matter. The district owns 78 buses and all buses will be inspected for safety.
