The schedule gets much tougher for the 20th ranked Iowa Hawkeyes tonight when they go up against eighth ranked Kentucky in the semifinals of the Guardians Classic in Kansas City. Kentuck coach Tubby Smith felt his team had some question marks coming into the season but Iowa coach Steve Alford says the Wildcats are loaded with talent and are doing the same thing they’ve done the last several years.

Alford says his team needs to find a way to score. The Hawkeyes have done a good job of taking care of the basketball to this point and Alford says that needs to continue as the level of competition rises. He says they’ll have more possessions because they run, but he says the sloppy turnovers are the ones that drive him crazy.

Second ranked Texas plays 14th rated West Virginia in what is a solid final four of the tournament. Alford says it jump starts college basketball and says it’s an exciting time in the next two weeks and you need to be playing well.
