U-N-I shakes off cold shooting to win

November 28, 2005 By admin

After a sluggish first half U-N-I pulled away for a 72-47 win over Upper Iowa Sunday in college basketball action. U-N-I led by only 27-21 at halftime and Panther coach Greg McDermott says shooting was their problem in the opening half. He says they just didn’t make shots.

McDermott says they’re in a little bit of a funk shooting the basketball and the defense has kept them in the games. He says they did shoot better in the second half and were able to get the win.

Upper Iowa coach Dave Martin was proud of his team’s effort. He says after playing their fifth game in seven days and the second against a division one opponent, he says they gave a great defensive effort. Martin says this is a special group of kids.
