Leaders pleased to I-S-U to another bowl game

December 15, 2005 By admin

When final exams wrap-up this week the Iowa State football team will resume preparations for The December 31st Houston Bowl against T-C-U. For the Cyclones it will be their fifth bowl game in six years and it is the way defensive lineman Nick Leaders wants to end his career. He says that’s why you play the games to get the rewards at the end of the year.

The Cyclones finished the regular season 7-4 and Leaders says the 10-1 Horned Frogs will be a tough matchup. Leaders says he saw them when they beat Oklahoma at the begining of the season. He says that win shows how good a team T-c-U has.
ISU beat Miami of Ohio in last year’s Independence Bowl and a win in Houston would mark the first time the Cyclones have won consecutive bowl games.
