Mason City couple pleads guilty to kidnapping

December 22, 2005 By admin

A Mason City couple accused of abducting a construction worker and using him to fund a trip to Texas have entered guilty pleas. Michael Alcorn the Second and Sonia Sanders escaped from a Mason City halfway house back in August and were later arrested while traveling towards Mexico.

The pair kidnapped 22-year-old Nicholas Jebson of Delmar, who was staying at the Sleep Inn in Charles City with co-workers when he was reported missing on August 18th. Authorities were able to track down Jebson and his two abductors by monitoring the transactions of Jebson’s bank card.

The group rented a hotel room in Huntsville Texas and Alcorn and Sanders were arrested within an hour. Alcorn and Sanders face up to life in prison and a $250-thousand fine when sentenced.
