U-N-I drops M-V-C opener in overtime

December 29, 2005 By admin

U-N-I was outscored 12-4 to begin overtime as the Panthers fell at Bradley 68-60 in their Missouri Valley Conference opener. Ben Jacobsen had 23-points to lead the Panthers and says hard-fought games will be the norm in Valley play. Jacobsen on the postgame show on the U-N-I Sports Network says the Valley games are hard and scrappy and that’s exactly what it was.

The Panthers shot only 34 percent for the game and committed some key turnovers down the stretch as they fall to 10-2 on the season. Jacobsen says it just comes down to making shots and taking care of the basketball and he says that’s what cost them the game.
