A Clinton-based Internet service provider has won an 11-billion dollar judgment against a junk e-mailer. Robert Kramer, the owner of C-I-S Internet Services, received the judgment against Miami, Florida, resident James McCalla, who was accused of sending millions of illegal spam e-mails advertising mortgage and debt consolidation services.

The judgment comes near two years after Kramer filed the suit against McCalla and other alleged spammers. A U.S. District judge granted Kramer’s request for monetary damages and an injunction that prevents McCalla from illegally spamming any Internet user, regardless of their I-S-P. In the suit, Kramer showed that in 2003, McCalla sent more than 280-million illegal spam e-mail messages into the C-I-S computer network.
