Iowa women travel to Michigan

January 5, 2006 By admin

The Iowa Hawkeye women are on the road in the Big Ten when they visit Michigan. The Hawks are 1-1 in the Big Ten and dropped their first conference road test at Indiana.

Iowa coach Lisa Bluder says they have more confidence now than what they had when they went to play Indiana. How the Hawks fare in the Big Ten will depend upon their newcomers. With three veterans sidelined by knee injuries Bluder is playing more freshmen than she has since becoming the Iowa coach. She says they’ve had individual situations where they started a freshman, but never this many at once.
Iowa is 8-5 overall
