The Iowa State women expect to meet a fired up Texas squad this evening when the teams meet in Austin in Big-12 play. The Cyclones are 1-1 in conference play while the Longhorns are hungry for a victory. They have lost three straight games and are 0-2 in the Big-12. I-S-U coach Bill Fennelly says it can’t be a first round knock-out he says they have to stay in the game in the first ten minutes and take Texas’ best shot. He says if they’re still in the game, then they can take it from there.

The Cyclones will be looking for their second straight road victory after a 71-62 win at Oklahoma State this past weekend. Fennelly says you learn a lot about the team when you go on the road, as you don’t have the home fans there. Fennelly says they’ve been a relatively successful road team over the years, and hopefully their style of play will let them be successful. Iowa State is 10-3 overall.
