After sweeping a Missouri Valley Conference road trip last week the U-N-I Panthers let one get away last night with a 55-52 loss to Creighton in the UNI-Dome. U-N-I coach Greg McDermott said on his postgame show on the U-N-I Sports Network it was a struggle for the Panthers from the outset.

Despite their struggles the Panthers had chances down the stretch but failed to convert. McDermott says it’s disappointing because it’s a game they thought they could win and let slip away.

The Panthers may have lost the services of guard Eric Crawford. He was helped off the court in the second half after injuring a foot. McDermott says he’s fearful that the foot is broken, although he’s hopeful it may just be a strain. He says they have enough guys to go without him.
U-N-I dropped to 4-2 in the Valley and will visit Illinois State State on Saturday.
