Drake comes from behind to win in O-T

January 19, 2006 By admin

The Drake Bulldogs rallied from an eight point second half deficit to force overtime and went on to win at Indiana State 77-68 in Missouri Valley Conference play. Drake coach Tom Davis on his postgame on KRNT thought his team was in trouble before they turned the game around in the second half. He says they started to put things together in the middle of the second half and played pretty solid over the last 10 to 15 minutes, including the overtime.

Nick Grant led the Bulldogs with 15 points. Al Stewart had 13 and Jonathan Cox had 13 points and added 12 rebounds as they squared their Missouri Valley Conference record at 4-4. Davis says he’s excited about the team because they got outplayed early, but found a way to come back and get the win.
The Bulldogs are 11-8 overall and will return to action Saturday with a visit to UNI.
