Iowa coach Steve Alford hopes to have a rested team that visits Michigan State tomorrow in the Big Ten. Several Hawkeyes played 50 minutes or more in Wednesday night’s triple overtime win over Minnesota and Alford adjusted his practice plan. Alford says the starters didn’t do much Thursday other than shoot free throws and he says they did a lot of looking at film to prepare for this game.

The Hawks have won two straight games that went to the wire and Alford expects more of the same in the conference race. Alford says they’re not a team that runs away with games, and he says they’re not the type of team that runs away from others, so they should have a lot of close games. They will need a good effort to have a chance tomorrow. The Hawks have lost ten straight in East Lansing.
