Iowa State coach Wayne Morgan says the Cyclones will be inconsistent until they grow up. The Cyclones suffered their fourth loss at home with an overtime setback to Texas A@M and for the second time in three games squandered a big lead in the second half. He says when the young guys get the same experience of how to make plays when you get a lead, then they’ll win those types of games.
The Cyclones are 2-3 in the Big-12 and 12-6 overall. They return to action Wednesday night with a visit to Missouri. Morgan says they’ll have to do everything well from scoring to defense. Morgan says defending Missouri’s perimeter shooting is a concern. The Tiger’s Thomas Gardner is one of the top three point shooters in the country. Morgan says they shot about 16 3’s a game and he says that’s a concern. Morgan says they can’t stop the three-point shot and then let them get layups.
Missouri coach Quinn Snyder says while Curtis Stinson and Will Blalock get most of the attention the Cyclones have a number of other weapons. Snyder says the Cyclone’s “bigs” are getting better and are very skilled and he says Stinson and Blalock are bringing the younger guys along. Mizzsou 3-2 in the conference race and 10-6 overall.
