Carroll man faces charges after high-speed chase

January 26, 2006 By admin

A Carroll man was arrested (Wednesday) after leading law officers on a two-hour high-speed chase covering three counties. The sequence of events began shortly before one P.M. when law enforcement officers in Greene County attempted to stop a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Eric Greteman for a speeding violation.

Instead, Greteman sped away, narrowly missing several semis and cars which he encountered while attempting to escape from police. The chase, which reached speeds of one-hundred miles per hour at times, finally came to an end when Greteman mistakingly traveled onto a dead-end road near Granger in Dallas County. Greteman was taken to the Greene County Jail in Jefferson following his arrest. He faces numerous charges including eluding officers and driving while revoked.
