A two-vehicle accident in eastern Iowa killed two people and injured two others. Authorities continue to investigate the crash, which occurred in Benton County and killed an elderly Vinton couple. Officials say 84-year-old Leland Bendall and his 82-year-old wife, Marie, died when their vehicle collided with another vehicle around 4 p.m. Wednesday. The driver of the second vehicle, 46-year-old Debby Hernandez — and a passenger — were both injured. The extent of their injuries and their conditions haven’t been released. Wednesday’s crash happened at the intersection of U.S. highways 218 and 30, about 20 miles west of Cedar Rapids.
