William Penn finds tough competition important

February 3, 2006 By admin

William Penn coach John Henry has found the perfect formula. Guide the Statesmen through a brutal non conference schedule then watch it pay off during the Midwes Classic Conference race. The Statesmen are 13-12 overall but have sole possession of the conference lead with a 7-2 record after a 77-75 victory over St. Ambrose. He says they’ve played 15 division two teams and were 1-14 in the games, but he says it paid off in the competition they got.

Henry says they’ve had four straight remarkable league runs after starting the season under .500. Penn visits Waldorf on Saturday.
