Cedar Rapids police search for window vandals

February 4, 2006 By admin

Since mid-January, nearly 250 cars in Cedar Rapids have been vandalized. Cedar Rapids cops have asked teachers and school administrators in the area to listen for any talk among students about the mischief. Jilian Faaborg, a student at Cedar Rapids Jefferson High school, has had her driver’s side car window shot out twice in the past few weeks. “They took a B-B gun and you can tell that they had shot at the window and everything shattered away from it,” she says. “There was glass inside and outside and this whole window gone.”

Jeremy Barnes, another Cedar Rapids Jefferson student, was struck twice in the past couple of weeks, too. “The second time around I was really kind of disappointed cause it happened again and it was the same window that had happened before,” Barnes says. “I had just bought this window and put it in.” Cops say they’ve logged about twice the normal number of car vandalism cases since the middle of January.
