Grinnell man charged with child stealing

A man’s jailed in Poweshiek County today (Monday) on a charge of child-stealing. Grinnell police early today arrested a 47-year-old man after investigating accusations from the alleged victim. Grinnell Police Sergeant Randy Hanssen with the Grinnell police department says the complaint back on November said that a man had started talking with an 8-year-old girl and enticed her to his apartment in Grinnell. The child escaped unharmed and ran home.

Early this (Monday) morning, police went to the apartment and arrestedJay William Droppa of Grinnell on a charge of child stealing. Released on his own recognizance, Droppa has a court appearance February 16.
