U-N-I won a first place showdown in impressive fashion. Eric Coleman had 18 of his game high 20-points in the opening half as the 25th ranked Panthers rolled past Wichita State 68-56 in the dome and knocked the Shockers out of a share of the Valley lead.

Coleman on the post game on the U-N-I Sports Network says his coach has been challenging him in practice to come out and play. He says he got hot early and the guards kept feeding him and they built on that energy. Coleman had just two points after intermission but Ben Jacobsen caught fire in the second half by scoring all 15 of his points.

Coleman says the Shockers started digging in against him and then Jacobsen got hot and started hitting. Coleman says that’s the good thing about the team, they have lots of options.U-N-I is 11-3 and shares the Valley lead with Creighton. The Panthers are 21-4 overall.
