A northeast Iowa resident is being sent back to Mexico. An immigrant living in the Buchanan County town of Winthrop is being deported. 28-year-old Cesar Rosales-Casteneda will be sent back to Mexico after serving 67 days in federal prison for illegally re-entering the country.

Rosales-Castaneda was charged December 7th with illegal reentry after being deported in 1998 and three times in 2003. Buchanan County deputies encountered Rosales-Casteneda when they answered a domestic abuse complaint at his Winthrop home November 17th. He was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Cedar Rapids on Tuesday.
